Review by hotel critic
Nestled within a vibrant center filled with charming shops and cafes, the Elms Hotel offers an inviting retreat, particularly appealing to those seeking a culinary journey. During my visit, I was impressed by the extensive menu offered in the fully-licensed restaurant and bar, which served well-prepared meals throughout the day. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, an ideal setting for indulging in a delightful meal. I opted for the Indian cuisine, savoring each bite while enjoying the attentive service. The staff were notably friendly, contributing to a comfortable dining experience that felt effortlessly inviting. Breakfast was a highlight, served hot by a pleasant waitress, setting a positive tone for the day. My companion's burger-endorsed as the best in years-was a testament to the diverse offerings available. While the hotel decor may lean towards the traditional, the food consistently exceeded expectations, showcasing a commitment to gastronomy that is often overlooked in older establishments. In sum, the Elms combines comfort with excellent culinary innovation and presents itself as a perfect stopover for food enthusiasts.
